I can’t believe I’m graduated! Wait, yes I can. That took FOREVER. That seemed longer than high school I’m pretty sure. But it was worth it. 4 years of college finally paid off, I got a job! I am working at a bank. I don’t want to divulge too many details because it’s against corporate policy but I am going to be making a very good salary for someone straight out of college. I’m excited! I am thinking about getting a new car. I’m 100% positive I’m going to get SOMETHING, I’m just not sure what. I can tell you this: It will be something I really want, or something that’s incredibly cheap (not quality, just price). On to what I really want: a used 2005 Pontiac GTO. I won’t lie, the only reason I want it is because it has 400 Horsepower in a coupe. That’s fun! I just can’t justify spending more than 14,000 or so on a car that I don’t want. And I won’t. It’s either the $25,000 2005 GTO or a $14,000 Honda Civic or something. The 2006 GTOs are like $34,000. I can’t afford that. So a 2005 will do just fine, as long as it’s still under warranty. And I can find one under warranty. Used.

I am still working at Camp Hanes until my job starts June 27th. I’m going to start saving up as much money as possible, for whatever reason. I’m hoping to have a nice down payment for a car by August or so. That would be nice. The problem is, I have to travel to work everyday during my 6 months of training I have to go through first, and I have to travel to different locations as well. My 1987 Caprice won’t handle that too well. I mean normally, it wouldn’t matter - if I break down, I just get it fixed. But at a nice place like where I’m working, there is no tolerance for being late. At all. So I’m in a pickle - I need a new car, and I need it now. Should I go with the cheapo Honda or what I really want? Jeremy doesn’t know!
I made A A A A A my final semester of college. In fact, my senior year, I didn’t make anything less than an A in any class. It looks like this if you are wondering: A A A A A A A A A A
I tried hard, harder than most, so I feel I have bragging rights. Suck it!
Me and Benjamin have so much crap to unpack in our room from college. I don’t think I’m going to unpack it. That sounds like a plan. It looks sort of like a warehouse in our room here at home, but I mean seriously, if I unpack everything, where would I put it? There’s no room.
Oh yeah, forgot, at my job, I will be in Winston-Salem for 3 months, then Wilson, NC for 3 months. Then the training is over, and I’m put wherever the company needs me from then on. Hopefully it will be in North Carolina! I don’t want to be far away from my girlfriend. She would rather stay in NC as well. But I know we can make it work no matter what happens so I’m not too worried about it.
WE WENT TO DISNEY WORLD. Me and Jessica. It was really fun. Her friend Chris Tom let us stay in his apartment and he even got us into Disney World for free! It took 9 hours approximately to drive down to Orlando from her house in Lumberton, NC. I drove to her house from here in my Caprice and it did just fine, surprisingly. The first day we went to Magic Kingdom. It was pretty fun. We rode all sorts of stuff that made me sick (but I didn’t puke!), including Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Railroad, some haunted mansion, and saw a 3-d show. It was really cool. The second day, we went to Universal Studios (where we most DEFINITELY didn’t get in for free!). The tickets were really, really expensive, but we had a lot of fun. We bought the Express tickets also so we could jump to the front of the line, so we got to ride everything in one day. We rode the Hulk rollercoaster, which I SERIOUSLY almost threw up on. Then we did Spiderman, it was a REALLY cool 3-d/ride on rails sort of deal. The different Spiderman villains jumped out at you in 3-d. We rode the Twin Dragons rollercoaster, which almost made me puke too. We rode a teacup ride. The Jurassic Park ride (in which we rode twice!!!) put Splash Mountain to shame at Disney World. It was really fun. The drop at the end into the water is seriously scary. A T-Rex jumps out of the ceiling at you right before you fall down like 50 ft. After an exhaustive stay in the new part of Universal Studios, we headed to the old part mid-afternoon. We rode The Mummy ride, stopped 4 or 5 girls from cutting in line, the Men in Black ride, the Terminator 2: 3-d show, and then called it a day. The tickets came out to be around $110 a piece, but we had fun, and you don’t get to go to Orlando everyday, so it’s ok. Plus I got my picture taken with Wolverine.
The next day we went to Animal Kingdom and MGM at Disney World. At Animal Kingdom, we rode a Safari Ride where we got to see real animals, including a real lion and other african native animals. It was really cool and really bumpy. We went to see A Bug’s Life 3-d show also. The seats were “interactive,” meaning bees really “stung” you, you could smell when a stink bug……uh, let out fumes, and all sorts of stuff. We rode a dinosaur ride that was REALLY REALLY fun also. It was overall funner than Jurassic Park. Lastly, we rode Everest, the newest Disney ride. It’s similar to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, except it takes place on Mount Everest instead of a canyonesque mountainscape. It was REALLY cool.
After that we headed over to MGM and rode pretty much everything. The Tower of Terror was really really awesome as well; you dropped and got lifted up over and over and it was similar, to well, flying. We rode the Rockin’ Rollercoaster (featuring Aerosmith) after that. It was REALLY fast and even went upside down, even though the ride itself is INSIDE! Some kids behind us were making farting noises the entire time in line and I was going to say something to them but decided not to at the last moment because we were almost at the ride. We rode the Star Tours ride (which is a Star Wars attraction). It was fun, but dated. We saw the Indiana Jones stunt show which was fun. The best part about MGM was the Lights, Automotive, Action! show. It’s a car stunt show where the show is set in a huge stadium and made to look like a film is being ……..filmed. Car chases occur and explosions go off everywhere, while the cars have DEADLY accuracy, power sliding all over the place without touching each other.
We got to see “Fantasmick,” the watershow at MGM late at night. It was INSANE. They actually projected movie clips onto a wall of WATER! Not a wall with water on it, just WATER. Crazy!
The next day, we went to Epcot. It was interesting, but not as action-packed as the other parks. The big golf ball you see all the time is actually a ride. It’s called the Geosphere, not a golf ball. But I kept calling it the golf ball. We rode a test drive track ride, which broke down in the middle of the ride. It simulated the tests that new cars go through before they hit the lot. It was fun, but the break down in the middle of the ride sort of ruined it. The people in the car behind us got caught beneath the part of the ride that blows freezing cold air on you. Owned.
We also visited multiple “countries” in Epcot. There are restaurants and information centers and gift shops and even small rides for many of the countries on Earth. Fun! We rode the Mexico ride and the Viking ride. It was REALLY hot that day. We rode a ride called “Soarin’,” which emulated a hang glider. It was seriously awesome. You really felt like you were soaring over mountains and stuff. We visited the Aquarium as well, and saw dolphins! We watched the interactive Finding Nemo with Crash show. It was creepy and cool. The character “Crash” (he’s a turtle) from the movie actually talks to the audience and his mouth moves and syncs up perfectly. It isn’t prerecorded at all - he talks to individuals IN the audience and even answers questions they ask! At night, Epcot had a on-the-ground firework show. It was cool, but not as cool as the MGM show. We left exhausted!
The last day we went home. The trip back home didn’t seem as long as the trip to Orlando, even though it took about the same amount of time. Jess’ car did fine, all 18 hours of driving. Hondas are good cars!
