Battlefield 2 is fucking awesome. I’ve been playing the demo a lot lately. It has the same feel as the previous BF games but a lot of it feels completely new. I’m still getting used to it, but I’m actually enjoying having to learn a new “type” of BF game. In Battlefield Vietnam I started playing and was first place after like 5 minutes. This game might take me a while to get up there. Ahh who am I kidding myself, I’m already first place. I also take extreme pleasure from being like the only person besides my brother I know that can fly the helicopters and planes in Battlefield. The helicopter controls are the same as BF Vietnam/Desert Combat (DC didn’t have auto-hover and the copters were a bit more responsive..if a bit unrealistic).
I’ve debated cancelling my World of Warcraft account for a few weeks now. That may seem sorta dorky..you know, debating if I should stop playing a game. The deal with WoW is that it has been basically my entire day for the past year. The only reason I’m debating whether to cancel now is because of the recent honor system that was implemented. You get a rank depending on how well you do versus other players in the game and you can lose the rank like Warcraft 3 ladder system. I recently played an extreme amount for the past 3 weeks to gain rank 8 in the honor system..and I didn’t get it. There are 14 ranks, and if I can’t get rank 8 in 3 weeks then I know I can’t get anywhere above it. It’s simply too hard to gain ranks. The worst part, previously mentioned, is the fact that you can lose your rank. If I lost my rank I’d lose my honor system rewards (nice armor). Then it’d be really grungy with me going around like a washed up singer from the 80’s. I’d seriously be a has-been. It’s gonna happen when the ranks are updated this week, and I’m not looking forward to it. I simply can’t put that much time into a game with no reward, and at rank 7/8 it just got supremely harder to gain a rank. There’s two reasons why I’ve not cancelled: playing the game without worrying about a PVP rank is actually fun, and #2: playing a low level character with Nick, Josh, Josh 2, Jeremy, and Tabetha is really fun. I guess I should just stop trying to gain ranks in the honor system and just have fun.
Damn Battlefield 2 is fun. It comes out in a week and a half. I’m gonna preorder it today. Ha ha. Those are my favorite PC games.
