How Things Are Going

Making 4 As and a C this semester at ASU. Quick run down of my classes:

CIS-2990: Pretty easy. Big ass project due at the end of April, but it shouldn’t be too much of a problem.
Health and Fitness: Annoyingly easy. I don’t want to go at all, but it’s one of those classes that is so easy that if you don’t go, you will fail. All the shit you need to know is during the class, so you can’t skip. Not that I would.
Managerial Accounting: I HATE THIS CLASS. Made a damn 71 on the first exam. Horrible. The professor isn’t very good. I blame her.
Introduction to Theater: Very easy class, pretty interesting too. We watch a movie (yes, movie, in college, during class) about every other class period.
Macro-Economics: Challenging, but fairly easy. Such a stark contrast to last semester’s Micro-Economics. It really is the professor.

Stumbled across some really, really old family videos today. We’re talking November 25, 1987. My younger sister wasn’t even born yet. Man, my mom and dad talked like serious hicks back then. How things have changed. Weird: My grandma and grandpa on my mom’s side of the family look the same still. 17 years ago. Not exactly the same, but similar. I guess once you get to a certain point all you do is degenerate from the inside out! Brought back some memories. I used to have blonde hair back then. Things were a lot simpler back then. Hell, when I was watching the video, it felt more “fuller” or something than the present. Seems like since high school and on, things have went by so fast. Everything seems hollow. I think it’s called growing up. Blecht. Back then it was all slow and classic. Now it’s just day by day boredom. When I’m supposed to be getting wasted and having the time of my life, I’m playing Desert Combat and listening to mp3s.

There is this really weird black substance in my carpet right next to the door that leads to the sub-chamber of my bedroom. It looked like tar or motor oil, but I put some Resolve on it, and it made the cloth blue. So I think it’s blue ink from something. There was a printer sitting there a couple of days ago, but how could printer ink spill out of a damn printer?

Ever since I ordered my brand new Abit NF7-S motherboard and Barton 2500+, I have noticed some static coming through my mp3s. It’s a long story, but I’ve tried EVERYTHING to make it stop, and it’s not. So I officially give up. Apparently, the static has always been there, and I just now noticed it. That’s the only logical explanation. I mean if you were to say “didn’t you try solution X!” I would say “yes” in every single situation. I’ve tried it ALL to fix this problem. Nothing does. It defies logic.

With Half-Life 2 and Doom 3 coming, I am thinking about ordering an ATI 9800 Pro. They are absurdly cheap these days (when compared against the usual high-powered video accelerators these days), running about 200 bucks. That, in addition to my new motherboard and processor, would be one kick ass system. The problem: I need RAM too. The amount of RAM I want is really expensive. The type is expensive too. I want 1 GB of PC3200 Corsair XMS RAM. That would be around 270 bucks. Ouch. But Battlefield needs it, seriously. All I do is play Battlefield and listen to mp3s, so I need the RAM.

I have enough money for the 9800 Pro and RAM, but I don’t like having nothing in the bank. I’ll probably wait ’til I have more in the bank, then make one mass purchase.

The fact that my sound is “messed up” makes me want to never use a computer again (much less order new parts), but I need to get over it.

For Spring Break (the time when college students get wasted and have sex with strangers in far away places) I am in King, North Carolina. And I like every bit of it. I don’t want to be anywhere else.

Watched Easy Rider the other day. I saw it a LONG time ago (didn’t understand it or like it back then). That is one of the best movies I’ve ever fucking seen. EVERY ONE should go and watch this movie. Supper time.
